The VCC is the Tri-Valley's Premier Chorus
Our chorus consists of about forty
auditioned
singers, many of whom live in the Tri-Valley area. We rehearse every Monday night from
7:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the
First Presbyterian Church
, which is located at 2020 Fifth Street in Livermore. We typically sing three or four programs during the year starting in fall, and we hold concerts at many locations including Livermore, Pleasanton, Hayward, Walnut Creek, Fremont, and San Francisco. We also host special events such as our annual Sing-it-yourself Messiah. In addition, small groups perform at other events such as arts festivals, senior citizen concerts, school assemblies, and Christmas parties. Our musical taste runs the gamut from serious music such as Brahms Requiem and Orff's Carmina Burana to contemporary pieces such as Durufle's Requiem to light music such as music from Bernstein's Candide and West Side Story. Our director is John Emory Bush and our featured pianist is Daniel Glover. Auditioning to sing with the Valley Concert Chorale
To sing with the VCC, you need to arrange for an audition, in which you may be asked to
sight-read music, perform a prepared solo, and/or perform a rhythmic clapping exercise.
Members pay yearly dues and often volunteer to support the VCC's many activities. You can audition at any time, then start singing at the beginning of the next quarter. Our next scheduled auditions will be on May 14, June 4, August 27, and September 10, 2012. Auditions are held at the First Presbyterian Church, which is located at 2020 Fifth Street in Livermore. If you would like to join us, call our regular phone number (925) 866-4003 and leave a message; or call at (925) 462-4205 to arrange a time. How to Contact the Valley Concert Chorale
